On 1/1/2002, DEI officially acquired Raptor Communications™
(http://www.raptor-x.com),
a small e-zine publisher specializing in travel-oriented sites.
Raptor Communications was started by Doug Elwell in 1998 primarily as a web development company, and secondarily as an
operating company to manage the design and production of various e-zines. Doug Elwell, Inc. has since assimilated all of
the assets of Raptor Communications, and its future status is still pending.
In December of 1998, Raptor Communications launched
its first e-zine, Mysterious World®,
a quarterly journal focusing on exotic travel destinations around the world (Mysterious World is a registered trademark owned
by Doug Elwell). Doug Elwell, Inc. will redesign Mysterious World's user interface and provide ongoing design, production,
and editorial support, and relaunch the site in the spring of 2002 with all-new stories. Other ezines are currently in
pre-production.
